Tyra Banks is leaving the ballroom: Deadline has confirmed that she will no longer be hosting Dancing with the stars on Disney+
Banks first joined the series in ABC’s Season 29 to fill in for the departing Tom Bergeron. His tenure produced mixed results; although he added a different energy to the ballroom, his live chat with both judges and contestants was often awkward. His big entrances also elevated the pros, who have remained a huge draw for a long time DWTS fans.
last season, DWTS paired with Banks’ season 19 Mirrorball champion Alfonso Ribeiro.
TMZ first broke the news about Banks.
Disney+ has not yet announced the new season DWTS, but is expected to continue on the streamer. The show has undergone several changes over the past year; Judge Len Goodman said he would leave the franchise, and pros Cheryl Burke and Mark Ballas revealed they were also hanging up their Danskins.
The streamer has yet to release viewership numbers for the dance competition show, which continues to make headlines for its casting decisions and raucous performances.
