The upcoming Flash movie already had one fan in their corner when James Gunn called it “probably one of the greatest superhero movies of all time,” but now an unexpected celebrity is raising the hype for the upcoming DC movie: Tom Cruise.
According to a report from THR , the Top Gun and Mission Impossible star loved The Flash so much that he cold-called director Andy Muschietti to praise it.
The story began when Cruise met with Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, who reportedly mentioned to Cruise how great The Flash was. Cruise asked to see the film, and Zaslav agreed to send a copy of the film in advance to Cruise’s Beverly Hills home. Shortly after Cruise finished filming, he contacted Muschietti.
According to THR’s sources, Cruise called The Flash “everything you want in a movie,” adding that “this is the kind of movie we need right now.”
Tom Cruise received high praise from Quentin Tarantino and Steven Spielberg for Top Gun: Maverick and its role as a box office savior, so it’s nice to see the star passing some of his love back.
