UPDATE: Meteorologist Alissa Carlson Schwartz posted a message on her Facebook page this afternoon. “Thank you for all the messages, calls and good wishes. I’ll be fine!” He gave no further details.
PREVIOUSLY: KCAL meteorologist Alissa Carlson Schwartz passed out Saturday morning during a live TV broadcast.
Schwartz was delivering weather reports as part of the 7 o’clock updates when he was struck. He began to lean forward, lost consciousness and collapsed onto the table before he could even begin his report.
The show was slightly delayed before the show cut to commercial. Since then, there has been no update on Carlson’s condition.
Carlson, formerly Mrs. America competitor, has heart disease. In 2014, during another station’s weather report, he vomited on set during the weather report. Subsequent tests revealed a leaking heart valve.
