Are you ready for it? Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is finally here.
The 52-date trek kicks off Friday night in Glendale, Ariz., at State Farm Stadium with Gayle and Paramore opening. This will be Swift’s first tour since the 2018 Reputation Stadium Tour, as her 2020 Lover Fest event was canceled before it began due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Swift has since released three studio albums – “Folklore” and “Evermore” in 2020, and “Midnights” in October 2022. She also re-recorded “Fearless” and “Red” (both of which came with bonus tracks) in 2021. .
Swift has promised this run will be a “journey through all my musical eras,” prompting Swifties everywhere to speculate what that means for the tour’s set list. Will he sing hits from each of his 10 albums chronologically, or will he mix them up to tell a completely different story? Only time will tell. Regardless, the Eras tour is shaping up to be something out of his fans’ wildest dreams — that is, those who managed to snag tickets.
Overwhelming demand for tickets when they went on sale in November caused Ticketmaster to collapse, leaving hundreds of thousands of fans disappointed. The tour broke the record for concert tickets sold by an artist in one day with 2.4 million, and the collapse of Ticketmaster even led to a congressional hearing on the lack of competition in the ticketing industry. In short, those who see Swift perform tonight are on holy ground — and the rest of us will just have to put up with it.
